Project Summery

At Magnadigi it was apparent that we needed a website to illustrate our ability to create impressive applications that drive sales and support business functions. While that was true, the primary goal of this website is not to attract business but rather to meet our expectation of providing the highest quality technology services possible. Magnadigi values being a success provider above all else. By investing in our operational systems, we are laying the groundwork necessary to repeat success, over and again, one client at a time. Lastly, we recognized that the role project management plays in the develpment of results producing software is tremendously important. It was therefore crucial to create a design that fosters stakeholder buy-in, and thus involvement in the design process.

With these key factors in mind, here is a sample illustrating some of the requirements that were used when planning this development project.

  1. The website’s back-end must sync in real time with a client facing portal to provide project information.
  2. The portal must display each stakeholder’s unique task list with the ability to update notes and a task status field.
  3. The portal must contain dynamically fed Gantt charts illustrating task dependencies and timelines.
  4. The portal must contain a secure file management area with upload, download, and deletion capabilities for sharing pertinent documents with the development team.
  5. The portal must have a stakeholder profile update section that allows them to update their contact phone number and email address.
  6. The portal must have a document download section where various forms and artifacts can be shared according to the stakeholder’s authorization level.
  7. The ERP system must be updated in python to allow for the administration of various authorization levels.
  8. There must be three authorization levels that include Magnadigi Employee Auth, Owner-Manager Auth, and General Stakeholder Auth.

In addition to the above-listed functional requirements it was also imperative that the site had a business-oriented polished design that promotes simplicity while being capable of handling up to 25 concurrent user sessions without noticeable lag. The current business trajectory dictates that the application must have the ability to be containerized behind a load balancer to scale on demand.
